ZEISS Greater China President: Zeiss’s development in line with Shanghai FTZ

Covering an area of 28 square kilometers, the Shanghai FTZ is relatively small but its power is awe-inspiring. As of March 2018, the number of newly registered enterprises in the zone had exceeded 50,000, surpassing the total of enterprises registered in the previous two decades. Among them are 9,450 newly established foreign-funded enterprises. The excellent business environment has attracted many multinational companies to set up their regional headquarters here. One of them is ZEISS, which entered the Waigaoqiao Bonded Area in 1999. Today, the original trading company has grown into a China headquarters that integrates research and development, manufacturing and trade, and might one day be upgraded to an APAC distribution center. All of this, as Maximilian Foerst, president of ZEISS Greater China, said, Zeiss is in line with the development of the Shanghai FTZ.
